The award winning First Person Shooter, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, offers players a vast amount of resources to dominate online play. What this war simulator offers is the opportunity to Prestige. While many players talk about the ability to Prestige and offer ideas of what you get for doing it, the only place you can bet on hearing the benefit to Prestige, is right here on Modern Warfare 2 Secrets.
To Prestige or Not to Prestige? That is the Question...
I will attempt to explain this to you in a way that even if you play a little bit of the game, you can comprehend and wrap your brain around the pros and cons to Prestige your player. What you receive when you Prestige are the following: An additional Weapons Class, a new emblem that is displayed in small form at the high-scores page next to your name, and the knowledge that you are moving forward in the game.
You also will gain more points to Prestige faster the second time and third time as you play the game more. The time spent the first time on your journey to Prestige will be but a blip on your subsequent marches to Prestige. Players will acknowledge that you Prestiged and it's just a mental note that you have taken the time to play the game an ungodly amount. It's a respect factor that is not ignored by the online gaming community.
When you Prestige you have the option of doing it in the Prestige option on the main menu of online play. It's an opportunity that does have its consequences unfortunately. When you Prestige, you lose all the guns and weapons that you have unlocked including all attachments and Perks that you so painstakingly worked hard for the last month or so.
On top of all that hard work gone down the drain, the original frustration you will have of taking on the online community without any of the weapons that you felt comfortable using is only going to be worse when I tell you this... You are only playing against players that Prestige. That's right. You are not playing against Rookies or Noobs anymore. You are playing against other players that Prestige and the skill level of those players are increasingly more skilled than you. It will feel like your aim is off, the speed is too fast, and your abilities will be far behind those who have Prestiged before you and have had time to earn their weapons, Perks, and Killstreaks.
This is just the way the game was created to promote parity. You will have to work even harder to achieve everything you have lost.
So why even use the Modern Warfare 2 Prestiges??
It is a unique opportunity to play better players and figure out where you stand against other Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Players. You can't be the best if you don't challenge yourself against these kinds of players. Some people prefer not to Prestige, and the reasons for this are to unlock all the emblems which do carry over if you Prestige as well as they may not want to play against players that are a higher skill level than they are. But what fun is smoking new players that bought the game last week?
